Initial Drilling Returns Exceptional Silver Intersections
Perth, Australia – Alien Metals Limited (AIM: UFO) announced Wednesday that its joint venture partner, West Coast Silver Limited, has uncovered shallow, high-grade silver mineralization at the Elizabeth Hill silver project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
The first two diamond drill holes delivered standout results:
Hole 25WCDD001 intersected 5 meters at 313 grams per tonne (g/t) silver at a depth of 20 meters, followed by 5 meters at 2,822 g/t silver at 26 meters, including a 2-meter interval grading 6,951 g/t silver.
Hole 25WCDD002 returned 12 meters at 153 g/t silver from surface, including 1 meter at 973 g/t silver.
Portable XRF readings suggest that silver mineralization starts at surface in both holes. Half-core samples have been sent to a laboratory for comprehensive analysis, with results expected within 6-8 weeks.
Alien Metals Retains 30% Free Carry Interest
Alien Metals holds a 30% free carried interest in the project until a production decision is made, while West Coast Silver manages operations as the joint venture operator.
Historic High-Grade Production
Elizabeth Hill has a proven production history, having produced 1.2 million ounces of silver from just 16,830 tonnes of ore before its closure in 2000—achieving an exceptional head grade of 2,194 g/t silver. The mine shut down due to low silver prices and joint venture disputes.
Advanced Geological Understanding
The project has demonstrated core recovery rates exceeding 95%, with systematic documentation now underway to better understand the mineralization structures and lithological controls. This work aims to enhance future exploration targeting.
Alien Metals emphasized that the recent drill results, combined with the project’s strong historical performance, highlight its significant untapped potential. Further drilling is planned to expand on these high-grade discoveries.
